How are the current corona rules in Mallorca.

Where can I get a Covid test on the island?

According to the decisions of the Balearic Government, further easing has come into force
on the Balearic Islands since Friday May 6th, 2021. We have briefly summarized the current
regulations that apply in Mallorca for you. Since Ibiza, Formentera and Menorca are already
in phase 1 due to the good number of covid cases, partially loosened Covid regulations apply
here.

Night curfew on all Balearic Islands

There is still a nightly curfew between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. During this time, you only leave
your hotel or home with a valid reason, such as doctor's appointments, medical emergencies
or work-related reasons, but also if you have to go to the airport. If you have to pick
someone up from the airport or take a flight yourself during this time, it is important to have
all passenger data and flight information at hand in the event of a police control.
Mask requirement on all Balearic Islands:
The general mask requirement for all people from 6 years on Mallorca and the Balearic
Islands continues to apply, but there is hope that this can be lifted in early summer at least
for staying outdoors. The mask can be removed while exercising. When strolling along the
beach promenade you have to put on the mask. Even on the beach you have to wear the
mask when walking, but you can remove the mask when sunbathing or swimming.

Smoking ban on all Balearic Islands:

The smoking ban remains strict. Smoking on the street is permitted, provided that the safety
distance to all other people is maintained. Smokers are not allowed to stand together in
small groups. Anyone who smokes has to stay where they are and are not allowed to walk
down the street smoking.

Gastronomy on Mallorca and Ibiza:

The beautiful weather and mild temperatures here invite you to have breakfast, brunch or
lunch on the terrace of your favorite restaurant in the sun. Let your mind wander and enjoy
the Mediterranean lifestyle to the full. Dinner can now also be enjoyed in one of the many
restaurants without any time restrictions; a light jacket is recommended here in the evening
hours in order to experience a nice evening with the island delicacies and local wines.
Restaurants are allowed to use the outside areas and terraces 100%, with a maximum of 4
people per table – these can come from different households. The opening times are daily
until 10:30 p.m. The restaurants are allowed to offer delivery service until midnight.
Unfortunately, the interior areas of the restaurants and bars have to remain closed for at
least another 14 days (probably until May 23, 2021).

Gastronomy on Menorca and Formentera

Restaurants are allowed to use the outdoor areas and terraces 100%, with a maximum of 6
people per table – these can come from different households. The opening times are daily
until 10:30 p.m. The restaurants are allowed to offer delivery service until midnight.
The interior areas of the restaurants and bars are allowed to open with 50% use, per table a
maximum of 4 people from 2 households can be entertained. The interior areas of the
restaurants are allowed to open until 5 p.m., on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until 6 p.m.

Shopping on the Balearics:

You can do your shopping for your finca vacation or vacation in your Mallorca domicile on all
Balearic Islands during the regular opening times. Essential shops such as supermarkets,
grocery stores, shops for beverages, drugstores, pharmacies, opticians, hairdressers and
beauty salons, press, telecommunications, kiosks, veterinarians, gardening supplies and
petrol stations are open during their respective opening times. There are no restrictions
here.
Visit the small boutiques and shops on a shopping spree through the beautiful old town of
Palma or Ibiza Town, these are now open again every day until 10:00 p.m. 75% of the
otherwise permitted customers are again allowed to stay in the shops.
For your visit to El Corte Ingles, the Festival Park or one of the other large shopping centers
on Mallorca, somewhat stricter regulations apply in order to avoid large crowds. The
shopping centers and department stores have their doors open for you every day until 10:00
p.m., also on Sundays and public holidays. 50% of the otherwise permitted customers are
again allowed to stay in the shops, on weekends and holidays only 30% of the otherwise
permitted customers. For this purpose, there are display boards in all large shopping centers
and department stores, on which the number of customers currently in the store and the
CO2 content can be seen.
In Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera there are no restrictions on small and large shops and
shopping centers.
Private meetings outdoors, on the beach or in private households:
A maximum of 6 people from different households are allowed to meet in public spaces and
on the beach. Here, the distance regulation must be observed and a mask must be worn (see
mask requirement).
In private households, both indoors and outdoors, the regulations are somewhat stricter. A
maximum of 6 people from 2 households may come together on your finca or in your private
home.

A day on the beach

The beaches of Mallorca have awakened from their hibernation and invite you to sunbathe
and splash in the sea. The lifeguards have been back in their posts since May 1st, 2021 to
ensure the safety of beach visitors. Enjoy your stand day every day between 6:00 a.m. and
9:00 p.m.

Covid-Tests

Vaccinated and convalescent people can enjoy again a lot of freedom in Germany, they don´t need to get tested anymore before returning to Germany. All other travellers from Germany as well as from Holland and other European Countries have to show a
negative test when entering their home country.

There are a variety of options on Mallorca to have a PCR test, an antigen test (rapid test) or an antibody test carried out. Since May 9th,
2021, the prices have been regulated by the Balearic Government to put a stop to profiteers
and dubious sellers. A PCR test may only cost € 75, and an antigen test (rapid test) may cost
a maximum of € 30. In the large private clinics, the tests can be carried out easily, quickly
and without an appointment, but there may be waiting times. We therefore recommend
that you book an appointment online in advance and would like to introduce you to two of
the many test centers:
The private clinic Quiron Palmaplanas, located directly at the Via Cintura exit Valldemossa,
offers the option of booking the appointment for the desired test conveniently and directly
via the online portal where you also can make the payment via credit card. In their own test
center, you are served quickly and in a friendly manner in Spanish and English and after the
test you receive the result directly on your mobile phone with a download link to the PDF in
2 languages.

Those who prefer to be served in English or German or who are staying further away from
Palma can go to one of the Test & Fly stations of the Clinica Picasso on the island to have the
desired test carried out. Here, too, you can book an appointment online in advance, and
group bookings of 6 people or more are also possible. As a special service, Test & Fly also
offers a mobile service from 4 people across the island and comes to you at the finca to carry
out the tests. Here, too, you can get the result conveniently on your mobile phone.
